Revanth Reddy Directs HMRL to Fast-Track MGBS-Chandrayangutta Metro Works

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited to expedite Phase-II Metro Rail works and road widening in the Old City, specifically along the 7.5-kilometre corridor connecting MGBS to Chandrayangutta.

During a review meeting held in Hyderabad with senior HMRL officials, the Chief Minister pointed out that passenger ridership on the Hyderabad Metro has been steadily increasing. To address the growing load, he directed the officials to take appropriate measures, including the procurement of additional Metro coaches.

Focusing on the Old City route, Revanth Reddy instructed HMRL to speed up road widening along the 7.5-kilometre stretch from MGBS to Chandrayangutta and to initiate the tender process for the Metro construction works on the corridor.

The Chief Minister also enquired about the status of pending land acquisition along the route and instructed officials to finalise all Metro expansion plans immediately.

Additionally, for the MGBS to Chandrayangutta corridor, Revanth Reddy asked officials to consult with the Delhi Metro regarding the appropriate technology to be used for the project.
