Revanth Reddy Challenges KCR to Assembly Debate on Kaleshwaram Project Repairs

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has challenged Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, commonly known as KCR, to a comprehensive debate regarding the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project in Hyderabad. The challenge, which invites the opposition leader to a discussion in the state assembly, comes with a unique proposal regarding the future management of the irrigation project.
According to the Chief Minister, the current state government is fully prepared to convene the assembly at KCR's earliest convenience to host this debate. In order to set the legislative proceedings in motion, Revanth Reddy urged the former Chief Minister to write directly to the Speaker of the Assembly so that the specific dates for a joint session can be finalised.
The challenge issued by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy includes a significant condition. He stated that if KCR can convincingly explain why the project should be handed over to him, the current Telangana government will officially task the BRS chief with overseeing the repair works of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project for a period of three years.
This offer would place the responsibility of managing and executing the project's repairs directly under the supervision of the former Chief Minister, provided he can successfully defend the project during the proposed assembly debate.
In addition to the challenge, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy offered assurances regarding the atmosphere of the legislative debate. He promised that the state government would ensure a fair, orderly, and respectful environment for the discussion. The Chief Minister added that the government would make sure the assembly sessions run smoothly and that KCR's dignity is fully maintained throughout the proceedings.
With this move, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has placed the decision to initiate the assembly debate in the hands of the former Chief Minister, waiting for KCR to write to the Speaker to coordinate the schedule.
