Retired Army Subedar Killed, 2 Injured in Hydershakote Hit-and-Run

A 47-year-old retired Army subedar was killed and two others were injured on Monday morning in a hit-and-run collision involving an SUV at Hydershakote, under the limits of the Narsingi police station. The deceased has been identified as D Ravinder.
According to the Narsingi police, the incident occurred at around 5:30 am when Ravinder was returning home on his two-wheeler after completing his night shift. An SUV travelling on the wrong side of the road collided head-on with his vehicle, throwing him off. Ravinder suffered a serious head injury and died on the spot.
After hitting Ravinder's two-wheeler, the SUV continued onward and struck another two-wheeler operated by a Rapido rider, causing injuries to both the rider and the pillion passenger. The SUV then crashed into an autorickshaw.
The impact left the front portion of the SUV heavily damaged. Following the series of crashes, the four occupants of the SUV abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the injured victims to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Ravinder’s body was sent for a postmortem examination.
Police suspect that the occupants of the SUV were under the influence of alcohol when the incident took place. A further investigation into the case is currently underway.
