Resonance College Hostel Students Protest Over Worms in Food in Madhapur

A protest broke out late Tuesday at the Sathavahana boys’ hostel of Resonance junior college in Madhapur, Hyderabad, after students allegedly discovered worms and cockroaches in their meals. The demonstration involved around 20 to 30 students who raised concerns regarding poor food quality and hygiene at the residential facility.

The protest began with the group of students sitting outside the hostel premises. The demonstration soon escalated into an argument between the protesting students and the hostel management. During the unrest, students allegedly damaged hostel property, which included breaking window panes and damaging a gate.

Following the disruption, local police were called to the hostel to control the situation and restore order. Although police intervened to manage the unrest, no official complaint has been registered regarding the incident.

According to the protesting students, the issue of substandard food is not limited to a single meal. They complained about ongoing poor food quality and hygiene standards at the Sathavahana boys’ hostel. Some students claimed they decided to object and launch the protest after finding worms in their rice and cockroaches in the sambar served to them.
