Realtors Protest at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Public Meeting in Uppal

Tension erupted at Uppal in Hyderabad on Sunday when members of the Telangana Realtors Association staged a protest during a public meeting addressed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The protesters disrupted the event to demand that the state government immediately remove their litigation-free plots from the prohibited lands category. They also called for an urgent review of land classification decisions in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
The protest began suddenly, just as Chief Minister Revanth Reddy commenced his speech. Representatives of the Telangana Realtors Association stood up at the venue, holding placards and raising loud slogans to draw attention to their grievances.
Security personnel and police officers deployed at the public meeting immediately rushed to control the situation. The police tried to stop the protesting association representatives and attempted to snatch the placards from their hands. Despite these efforts by the law enforcement officials, the protesters did not relent and continued their active sloganeering throughout the disruption.
The realtors expressed serious concern regarding the status of numerous land plots falling under the jurisdiction of the Narapally Sub Registrar Office. According to the association, a significant number of these plots have been placed under the prohibited lands category, bringing real estate transactions to a halt.
The representatives explained that the current system is deeply flawed and unfair to landowners. They pointed out that if even a few plots within a specific survey number are facing legal disputes, the authorities are placing the entire survey number under the prohibited lands category.
Describing this blanket classification as highly objectionable, the Telangana Realtors Association representatives demanded that the government issue clear orders to officials. They insisted that transactions must be permitted for all plots that are completely free from any legal or other litigations.
Additionally, the protesting realtors specifically demanded that the Medchal-Malkajgiri District Collector review and reconsider the decision that placed their plots under the prohibited category.
