Ravi Teja Starrer Irumudi Opens With Rs 25 Crore, Eyes Rs 70 Crore Weekend

Actor Ravi Teja’s latest film, "Irumudi", registered a worldwide opening collection of Rs 25 crore and demonstrated surging box office momentum across theatres in the Telugu states on its second day. Multiple major centres reported packed auditoriums, with most screenings putting up sold-out boards and the few remaining shows recording approximately 95% occupancy.

The project marks the maiden collaboration between Ravi Teja and director Shiva Nirvana, with the production backed by Mythri Movie Makers. The title and first-look poster of the film were officially unveiled on January 26 to mark the lead actor's birthday, referencing the sacred Ayyappa tradition. The film arrived in cinemas on August 21 during a favourable theatrical window, facing minimal competition as competing title "Vishwanath And Sons" slowed down at ticket counters.

Based on early trade estimates, "Irumudi" is expected to surpass the Rs 70 crore mark in worldwide collections by the close of its opening weekend. If the current pace of ticket sales continues into the subsequent weekdays, the film is projected to have a strong probability of entering the Rs 100 crore club globally.

The strong theatrical turnout has been attributed to a combination of mass entertainment and emotional family drama. The film's daughter sentiment has emerged as a central emotional anchor, connecting strongly with family audiences alongside Ravi Teja's trademark energetic performance.

Furthermore, the inclusion of the Ayyappa Deeksha narrative has served as a significant unique selling proposition for the movie. The blend of devotional elements with commercial film treatment has resonated widely with the target audience. For Ravi Teja, whose recent releases faced a difficult box office stretch, the theatrical wave created by "Irumudi" has delivered a substantial commercial boost suited to his mass-hero image across Telugu cinema circuits.
