Rashmika Mandanna to Resume Ranabaali Shoot Following Injury Recovery
Actress Rashmika Mandanna is set to rejoin the production of her upcoming film Ranabaali after recovering from a major physical injury. The makers of the film have locked an October 30, 2026 release date, prompting Mandanna to return to the set to complete her remaining acting portions strictly as per schedule.
Mandanna sustained her injury while filming an intense dance sequence for another upcoming movie project titled Mysaa. During the sequence, she suffered a complete tendon detachment in her right hip. Medical professionals subsequently advised her to undergo approximately six weeks of complete rest and rehabilitation. As a direct result of the injury, the shooting schedules for both Mysaa and Ranabaali were temporarily affected and paused.
Despite the severe nature of the injury, Mandanna's recovery is reported to be progressing well, and she is determined to finish her portions for Ranabaali. The production team behind the film is hopeful that she will resume shooting soon and complete her remaining scenes without further delays. The makers are actively working to maintain their timeline and keep the film on track for its October 30 release.
Ranabaali holds particular significance for both lead figures. The project stars Mandanna's husband, Vijay Deverakonda, in the lead role. Earlier, in April 2026, the newly married couple had joined the sets after their wedding, where the film crew welcomed them with a cake-cutting ceremony. The film is also considered an important release for Deverakonda, whose recent theatrical projects did not perform as expected at the box office.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan of Taxiwala fame, Ranabaali is a period drama set against a historical backdrop in the pre-Independence era. The project marks another collaboration between Deverakonda and Sankrityan under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. Audience curiosity surrounding the film has built steadily following the release of a special birthday glimpse featuring Deverakonda and leaked visuals from the shooting sets.
