Ranga Reddy Court Hands Life Sentence to Man for 2021 Narsingi Murder

A Ranga Reddy court has sentenced a 29-year-old man to life imprisonment for the 2021 murder and robbery of a woman in Narsingi. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on the convict, identified as Raju, following the completion of the trial.

The victim, Meedinti Suvarna, worked as a housekeeping employee at Vishal Mart. According to police records, she went missing on September 4, 2021. Her mother, Manamma, lodged a formal police complaint the following day when Suvarna failed to return home.

Suvarna’s body was later discovered at Vidyut Valley Layout bearing physical injuries, and her personal belongings were missing from the location.

During the probe, investigators found that Raju, who was known to Suvarna, had travelled with her to the scene of the crime on a motorcycle. Police stated that an altercation occurred between them, following which Raju throttled and assaulted Suvarna, causing her death. He then fled the spot after stealing her gold ornaments and mobile phone.

Police relied on surveillance footage and call data records to track and establish Raju's movements leading up to the killing. He was arrested on September 22, 2021, after which a charge sheet was submitted to the court. Upon evaluating the evidence presented during the trial, the court convicted Raju and announced the life term.
