Ramoji Film City Staffer Booked After Doctor Assault at Pochampally PHC

The wife of a computer operator working at Ramoji Film City has approached authorities seeking her husband's admission to a mental hospital following an incident in Pochampally where he allegedly assaulted a duty doctor and obstructed police officers, officials reported on Saturday.
According to the complaint filed by his wife, the man had been enduring severe mental distress related to an ongoing court case involving Rs 4,00,000 that he had lent to others. The family situation had reportedly grown increasingly strained, leading to frequent quarrels with her and their six-year-old daughter at home.
The woman noted that her husband had a history of abnormal behaviour predating their marriage, for which he had previously received medical treatment at a private hospital in Erragadda. She stated that his condition worsened significantly in recent times after he stopped adhering to his prescribed medication regimen.
The distress reportedly culminated in violence during a visit to the Primary Health Centre in Pochampally. While at the healthcare facility, the man allegedly assaulted the duty doctor who was attending to patients.
Following the assault at the health centre, the man also obstructed police personnel from carrying out their lawful duties at the local police station. The confrontation was recorded on CCTV cameras, and the resulting video footage was subsequently shared widely across social media networks.
Police authorities confirmed that a case has been formally registered regarding the incident. Investigators are looking into the sequence of events and examining the circumstances surrounding the disruption, with further details awaited as the inquiry proceeds.
