Ramchander Rao Demands Revanth Reddy Hand Over Education Portfolio to Young Leader

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Monday demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy step down from the Education portfolio and entrust it to a younger leader, speaking in Hyderabad. Rao sharply criticised the Chief Minister, alleging that the State government was placing the future of students at risk by continually delaying the release of fee reimbursement funds.

Characterising the Congress administration as anti-student and anti-society, the BJP leader further alleged that a major scam was taking place in the name of constructing Gurukul institutions. He also raised concerns over student welfare, claiming that students were falling ill after consuming food served in these government-run schools.

Rao accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of deliberately trying to divert public attention from the critical fee reimbursement issue. He noted that the Chief Minister's proposal to reduce the minimum age for contesting elections to 21 years was merely a tactic to distract from government failures and create new talking points.

Questioning the broader Congress leadership, Rao asked whether the party was prepared to practice what it preaches by replacing its national president, Mallikarjun Kharge, with a younger leader if it was genuinely committed to promoting youth in politics. He pointed out that the BJP had recently elected Nitin Nabin as its national president, which he stated proved the party's commitment to providing opportunities to young leaders.

In addition to the education sector concerns, the state BJP president sought immediate answers from the Congress government regarding its unfulfilled election commitments. He demanded updates on key promises made to the public, including the implementation of the unemployment allowance and the creation of two lakh government jobs.
