Ram Charan’s Peddi Collects Rs 131 Crore Worldwide Share in Opening Weekend

The newly released Telugu film Peddi, starring actor Ram Charan, registered a strong opening weekend at the box office, collecting an estimated Rs 131 crore share worldwide by Monday, June 8, 2026. While the drama witnessed robust theatrical performances across the Telugu states—particularly in the East Godavari and Uttarandhra regions—it faced significant underperformance in Karnataka and various overseas markets.

In terms of gross collections, the movie has accumulated approximately Rs 240 crore worldwide so far. However, Peddi still has a long theatrical run ahead to reach its estimated global breakeven target of Rs 500 crore across all released languages.

The film's journey began with a massive opening day. Including premieres and Day 1 collections, Peddi secured a worldwide share of Rs 67.85 crore. The total worldwide gross for the first day was estimated to be between Rs 115 crore and Rs 120 crore, marking the first time Ram Charan has achieved a solo 100-crore opening day in his career. This initial surge surprised many industry trade analysts.

Within the Telugu states, the strong theatrical run in East Godavari and Uttarandhra is expected to yield highly positive results for local distributors. Trade reports indicate that both of these distribution territories are poised to fetch commissions for their respective distributors after reaching their local breakeven points.

Despite the film maintaining a steady hold on Monday, even with high ticket prices continuing in several areas, its performance outside the Telugu states remained weak. The movie received virtually no box office contribution from other language dubs and underperformed in neighboring Karnataka.

Furthermore, the film's international run has started on a weak note. Analysts labeled the opening weekend collections at the overseas box office as a major disappointment, contrasting sharply with the film's strong domestic performance in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
