Rajendranagar Court Sentences Man to Life for 2021 Narsingi Murder

The X Additional District Sessions Court at Rajendranagar on Monday sentenced a 29-year-old man to life imprisonment for the murder of a woman at Narsingi in 2021.
The convicted person, Dommari Raju, a resident of Gandipet and a native of Mahbubnagar district, was found guilty of murdering Meedinti Suvarna, who worked as a housekeeper at Vishal Mart.
According to the police, the incident came to light on September 5, 2021, when Suvarna’s mother, Meedinti Manamma, lodged a complaint stating that her daughter had been missing since the previous night. Suvarna had left for work and failed to return home. Following a search, her body was found with multiple injuries and her belongings missing at Vidhyuth Valley Layout.
The investigation established that Raju, an acquaintance of Suvarna, was involved in the killing. CCTV footage retrieved by investigators showed the two travelling together on a motorcycle towards the crime scene.
During interrogation, Raju confessed to killing Suvarna following an argument. He attacked and throttled her before stealing her gold ornaments and mobile phone, and subsequently made attempts to destroy evidence.
Investigators corroborated their movements and communication through call data records, which placed both individuals at key locations. The postmortem report confirmed that Suvarna’s death was caused by smothering, throttling, and blunt-force injuries to the chest.
Following the completion of the probe, the police submitted a chargesheet before the court. Upon concluding the trial, the sessions court convicted Raju and awarded him a life sentence.
