Rajendranagar Court Issues Notice to Attapur SHO in IPS Trainee Case

A local court in Rajendranagar has reserved its order on a plea seeking the extension of police custody for a trainee IPS officer accused in a rape case, while issuing a show-cause notice to the station house officer of Attapur Police Station.

The court directed the Attapur station house officer (SHO) to submit CCTV footage from the police station covering the period when the accused was interrogated during an earlier two-day remand. The court also ordered the SHO to furnish a written explanation responding to alleged violations of remand conditions on or before August 14.

During the hearing, the prosecution argued that two additional days of custody were required to recover the accused's iPhone. Prosecutors also requested extended custody to perform a potency test on the accused trainee officer.

The defence counsel opposed both the extension of police custody and the proposal for a potency test. After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved its judgment, with the final order expected to be delivered on August 14.
