Raiyan Faisal Yousufuddin Wins Two Golds, Sets Telangana Shooting Record

Hyderabad: Junior rifle shooter Raiyan Faisal Yousufuddin delivered an exceptional performance at the Second Telangana Big Bore Shooting Championship, clinching two gold medals and establishing a new state record in the junior men's division.

Raiyan recorded a score of 287 out of 300 in the 300m Rifle Prone Junior Men Individual event to finish first and create a new Telangana State record in the category. He also secured the top position and a second gold medal in the Men Individual category, matching his score of 287 out of 300.

According to the official athlete history report from the National Rifle Association of India, Raiyan is recorded as the rank-1 finisher in both events at the championship.

The young shooter has built a consistent track record in recent years. In 2024, Raiyan won gold in the 50m Rifle Prone Junior Men Individual event at the India Open Competition in Goa, where he finished first with a score of 580 out of 600. During the same year, he won gold in the 50m Small Bore Free Rifle Prone Junior Men category at the 15th South Zone Shooting Rifle and Pistol Championship in Chennai with a score of 578 out of 600, along with a bronze medal in the men's category. He also took home a silver medal in the junior category at the 34th All India G.V. Mavlankar Rifle Event.

Later in 2024, Raiyan participated in the 67th National Shooting Championship Rifle in Bhopal, competing in the 50m Rifle Prone Junior Men Civilian and National Championship events. He was part of the Junior Men squad that secured third place in the Civilian Championship with a combined score of 1838.00.

At the 68th National Shooting Championship Rifle in Bhopal in 2025, Raiyan contributed to the Junior Men team's gold medal finish in the 50m Rifle Prone ISSF Civilian Championship, where the squad logged a combined score of 1840.40. His 2025 season also included appearances at the 16th South Zone Shooting Championship, the 34th All India G.V. Mavlankar Rifle Event, the 23rd KSS Rifle Championship, and national selection trials.

In 2026, Raiyan continued his competitive run at the XII Telangana State Rifle and Pistol Championship, recording 576 out of 600 in the 50m Rifle Prone Junior Men and Youth Men events and securing two bronze medals. He also competed at the 24th KSS Rifle 2026 in Bhopal, achieving a mark of 603.1 in the 50m Rifle Prone Junior Men event.
