Rain Postpones Rythu Asheervada Sabha Meeting in Jagannathapuram

The Telangana state government has postponed the 'Rythu Asheervada Sabha' farmers' meeting, which was originally scheduled for June 30 at Jagannathapuram village in Chintakani Mandal of Khammam district, due to heavy rains. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced the decision on Monday in Hyderabad, explaining that continuous rainfall had turned the venue into a muddy area.
The event was initially planned as a grand inaugural launch for the Rythu Bharosa distribution initiative. However, to prevent inconvenience to farmers, the general public, and Congress party workers, the government has decided to reschedule it. The meeting will now be held as a grand concluding celebration after the completion of the Rythu Bharosa distribution.
On Monday afternoon, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, alongside Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, personally inspected the proposed venue at Jagannathapuram village to assess the ground conditions. Speaking to media persons, Vikramarka noted that conducting the meeting under the prevailing weather conditions would be difficult for everyone involved.
The state government had originally planned to launch the welfare program in the presence of lakhs of farmers, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the entire Cabinet participating.
District authorities are currently obtaining weekly weather forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Current reports indicate that rainfall is expected to continue in the region until July 3 or 4. Consequently, officials have been instructed to monitor weather information for another week.
Depending on the weather conditions, the government is planning to hold the rescheduled meeting on July 6, 7, or 8. The Chief Minister and the Cabinet will make a final decision once the rains subside. Vikramarka stated that local ministers, public representatives, and MLAs from across the erstwhile Khammam district are continuing to make extensive arrangements to ensure the event is a success.
