Rag Mayur to Play Suspicious Overthinker in Upcoming Film Anumana Pakshi

Hyderabad-based actor Rag Mayur has shared key details about his upcoming multi-genre film 'Anumana Pakshi', which will mark his first solo theatrical release. Directed by Vimal Krishna, the movie stars Mayur as a highly suspicious overthinker, a role that the actor noted pushed him creatively.
The film's production was completed during a 30-day shoot, with 90 percent of the filming taking place in Pahalgam and the remaining portions shot in Srinagar, Kashmir. The crew was among the first film teams to shoot in Pahalgam following an unfortunate incident in the region. Mayur described the Kashmiri landscapes and the warmth of the local people as making the shoot an unforgettable experience.
Mayur described his character as someone who constantly suspects his surroundings, maps out worst-case scenarios, and plants doubts in the minds of others to gain control. The actor, who identified himself as an overthinker in real life, found it easy to connect with the character but noted that portraying internal conflicts on screen was challenging.
In one specific sequence, his character, who is a vlogger, tests food adulteration and watches milk change color. In another comedic situation, the character becomes suspicious of his maid, secretly recording her actions and overanalyzing everything she does.
According to Mayur, 'Anumana Pakshi' departs from the style of director Vimal Krishna's previous hit 'DJ Tillu'. While 'DJ Tillu' relied on surface-level humor, this film focuses on a more subtle, under-the-surface comedy that emerges naturally from the protagonist's internal thought processes. The narrative blends multiple genres, starting with mystery before transitioning into romance and comedy.
The post-production phase for the film took longer than the shoot itself due to its complex storytelling techniques. The film incorporates animation, internal mind voices, and voiceovers, which required detailed editing to integrate seamlessly. Mayur noted that director Krishna gave the actors significant creative freedom to contribute ideas and perform naturally on set.
In addition to 'Anumana Pakshi', Mayur is also set to appear in 'Garividi Lakshmi' in approximately three months, where he will play a village folk singer and Burrakatha artist speaking in a Srikakulam dialect.
