Pulse Pharma Receives DCGI Approval for Aqueol Vitamin D3 Nanocarrier

Hyderabad-based drug manufacturer Pulse Pharmaceuticals has received approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for its proprietary nanocarrier technology designed for Vitamin D3 delivery.

The company announced on Thursday that the national regulatory authority cleared its "Aqueol" platform technology. The proprietary system was developed specifically to deliver lipophilic compounds effectively within water-based mediums.

Pulse Pharma Managing Director KV Rambabu stated that the nanotechnology is used to improve drug efficacy, increase bioavailability, ensure the formulation is easily tolerated, and enhance the overall experience for patients.

According to findings shared by the company from clinical studies, the nano-carrier entrapped Vitamin D3 oral dispersion demonstrated 50 to 60 percent higher serum vitamin D levels when compared against conventional formulations.

The pharmaceutical firm noted that it has developed multiple proprietary platform technologies to facilitate effective medicine delivery. Beyond the Vitamin D3 application, Pulse Pharmaceuticals is expanding the use of these platforms to other essential nutrients, including Vitamin B12, Vitamin K2-7, and Iron, as well as various widely used medications.
