Priyanka Ala reviews Golconda Fort Bonalu preparations ahead of July 16 start

On Tuesday, Hyderabad District Collector Priyanka Ala conducted a comprehensive field inspection at the Sri Jagadamba Mahankali Temple inside Golconda Fort to review preparations for the upcoming Golconda Bonalu festival. The inspection was held to ensure smooth coordination among various government departments and to make foolproof arrangements so that devotees do not face any inconvenience during the celebrations.

With the first Bonam procession, the inaugural pooja, and the presentation of Pattu Vastram by Ministers and other dignitaries scheduled for July 16, the Collector stressed that all officials must remain on high alert.

During the review, Collector Priyanka Ala inspected arrangements related to the movement of devotees, queue management, sanitation, drinking water, electricity, security, and other civic amenities. The coordination effort involved multiple departments, including the Roads and Buildings Department, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and the local police.

The Roads and Buildings Department was directed to install barricades at strategic locations, set up the required staging arrangements, and streamline queue lines to manage the crowds effectively.

For hygiene and cleanliness, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was instructed to maintain sanitation throughout the temple surroundings. GHMC officials were also directed to install bio-toilets wherever required.

To address security concerns, the Collector instructed police officials to maintain continuous surveillance during the festivities through a control room. The police were also asked to strengthen CCTV monitoring, deploy SHE Teams, and ensure adequate police bandobust for crowd management and security.

Furthermore, officials informed the Collector during the review that an electric buggy would be made available at the venue to assist elderly devotees visiting the temple.
