Priya Malik Performs Final Chapter Of Ishq Hai At Hyderabad Bhaskara Auditorium

Poet and performer Priya Malik brought the final chapter of her acclaimed musical storytelling show, 'Ishq Hai (The Final Chapter)', to the Bhaskara Auditorium in Hyderabad on July 11. The performance marked a return to the city following a previous successful show, connecting with the local audience through themes of love, home, and life's journey.

Discussing her return to Hyderabad, Malik expressed her excitement about performing in the city again. She noted that the show had previously received a tremendous response during its sole prior performance in Hyderabad, which prompted the team to return to the city to offer one last experience to the local audience.

According to Malik, 'Ishq Hai' represents a full circle of life, beginning with the concept of home and the initial understanding of love in a mother's womb. The show transitions through various stages of life before returning to the idea that being truly in love makes a person feel like home. The performance combines poetry, personal stories, songs, laughter, and tears.

Malik also reflected on how her creative journey was shaped by her years living in Australia, which she described as deeply transformative. She explained that living abroad made her realize she was truly Indian by heart and soul, which strengthened her desire to speak in Hindi and Urdu, wear Indian clothes, and preserve her cultural identity.

Although Malik has been writing poetry since the age of 12, she did not initially view it as a viable career while growing up in a 1990s Indian middle-class family. It was only after she returned to India from Australia, had her poems go viral, and secured her first brand collaboration on her 30th birthday that writing became her full-time career.

Her journey in India was not without hurdles. Malik recalled that one of her biggest initial challenges was overcoming her image as a reality television star following her appearance on the show Bigg Boss. She noted that people initially doubted she wrote her own poems, believing she was simply reciting someone else's work.

Today, Malik identifies her main challenge as the pressure of social media metrics, such as views, likes, and shares. She stated that she wishes poetry would remain the primary focus, with social media metrics being merely a by-product. Malik defines her current success as contentment with her writing and performance, emphasizing consistency and devotion to her art form.
