Prakaash Sarran Wins Straight-Set Opener at ITF Juniors in Hyderabad

Prakaash Sarran secured a straight-set victory over Pradnyesh Shelke in the boys' singles preliminary round of the Raja Narsimha Rao Memorial ITF Juniors tournament at the Lake View Tennis Academy in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Sarran produced a clinical performance to close out the match with a 4-2, 4-2 scoreline.

Several other junior players also advanced through their preliminary fixtures at the Hyderabad venue. G Vishwak Reddy earned a 4-2, 4-2 victory against Sankalp Kumr Sahani Kumar, while Veer Madam posted a dominant 4-1, 4-0 win over Shlok Chauhan. Yash Kumar also booked his spot in the next stage by defeating Amrit Dhankar 4-0, 4-2.

International contenders made their mark in the boys' draw as well. China's Can Lawani defeated Sarthak Ashok Gaikwad 4-2, 4-1, while Aarush Kote of the United States registered a comfortable 4-2, 4-1 win over Daivik Kalvakunta.

In the girls' singles preliminary matches, Zoha Qureshi moved ahead after beating Aaradhya Meena 4-2, 4-2. Sanmitha Harini Lokesh secured a convincing 4-1, 4-0 victory over Mariya Patel, and Nalyaazhini Krishnaprabhu advanced with a 4-0, 4-1 win over O Harsha Karthika.

The girls' category also featured a hard-fought contest between the United States' Mithravinda Sathish and India's Paavani Bisht. Sathish took the opening set 4-1 before Bisht fought back to level the match by claiming the second set tiebreak 4-5 (6). Sathish held her nerve in the decisive match tiebreak to finish with a 4-1, 4-5 (6), 10-7 win.
