Pradeep Constructions Challenges GHMC Notice on Somajiguda Project in High Court

The Telangana High Court on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, directed that a writ petition filed by Pradeep Constructions challenging a Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) show cause notice for a multi-storeyed residential project in Somajiguda be placed before the appropriate Bench. Justice B Vijaysen Reddy directed the High Court Registry to list the petition before the Bench having roster jurisdiction for further consideration of the matter.

The legal dispute centers on a show cause notice issued by the GHMC on July 7, 2026, under Section 450 of the GHMC Act. This notice proposed the cancellation of the building permission that had been granted to Pradeep Constructions for its residential development in the Somajiguda neighborhood of Hyderabad.

In its petition, the developer questioned the validity of the GHMC's notice, contending that the municipal authorities were attempting to cancel the building permission on the basis of an unnotified draft Full Tank Level (FTL) map of Hussain Sagar. Furthermore, Pradeep Constructions argued that the corporation was acting on the basis of disputed title claims over the property.

In addition to challenging the July 7 notice, the developer sought legal protection against potential coercive actions by the GHMC. The petitioner requested the court to prevent the municipal corporation from cancelling the building permission, initiating any demolition work at the site, or interfering with its application for an occupancy certificate.

When the matter was taken up for hearing on Tuesday, Justice B Vijaysen Reddy directed the Registry to place the writ petition before the appropriate Bench in accordance with the court's roster for further consideration.
