Post-Rakhi Return Rush Causes Heavy Traffic on Hyderabad Highways

Heavy return traffic caused slow-moving vehicle movement on major highways leading into Hyderabad on Sunday, with police reporting significant congestion along the Hyderabad-Warangal and Hyderabad-Vijayawada highways.

The surge in traffic followed the Rakhi festival and weekend holidays, as people who had travelled to their native places returned to the city ahead of schools, colleges, and offices resuming on Monday.

In Hayathnagar, police reported that vehicular volume was higher than usual along the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway. Law and order police personnel were deployed on the ground to assist traffic police in managing the flow and guiding commuters.

Police personnel were stationed across several congested stretches to regulate vehicle movement, prevent bottlenecks, and ensure that traffic did not remain stalled for prolonged periods throughout the day and into the evening.
