Ponnam Prabhakar Sows Castor Seeds in Kurella Village to Launch Kharif Season

On the occasion of Eruvaka Pournami, Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated the kharif agricultural activities by joining local farmers to sow castor seeds in Kurella village, located in the Koheda Mandal of Husnabad constituency. This event marked the official commencement of the new agricultural season in the region, highlighting the state government's commitment to prioritizing the welfare and prosperity of the farming community.

During the event, Minister Prabhakar extended Eruvaka Pournami greetings to the farming community of Telangana. He described the festival as a symbol of the state's rich farming culture and a sacred day when farmers pay obeisance to Mother Earth and nature before commencing new agricultural operations, aspiring for good crops.

The Minister expressed his joy at launching the agricultural programs directly in Kurella village. He prayed to Mother Earth for abundant rainfall across Telangana during this kharif season, wishing that farmers reap bountiful harvests, good health, and happiness.

Referring to the traditional saying "Annam Parabrahma Swaroopam" (rice is the form of the supreme being), Prabhakar called the farmer the backbone of the nation. He emphasized that the state can only prosper when its farmers are content, which is why the Congress government is giving the utmost priority to agricultural welfare.

Prabhakar explained that the state government is steadfastly supporting farmers in multiple ways. This support includes improving irrigation facilities, supplying quality seeds and fertilizers, and providing essential agricultural infrastructure.

The Minister also advised the gathering of farmers to adopt scientific cultivation methods, follow the guidance of agriculture officials, and ensure the use of quality seeds. He suggested the judicious use of water to promote nature-friendly agriculture and urged farmers to take precautions in crop selection considering climate changes. Furthermore, he encouraged the adoption of modern technology to achieve higher yields and secure better economic returns.

Concluding his address, the Minister prayed for all crops to grow prosperously without pests or insect attacks this kharif season. He reiterated that the state government's ultimate goal is the welfare of farmers and that the administration remains continuously committed to the development of the agricultural sector.
