Ponnam Prabhakar Lays Foundation for Rs 14.56 Crore Hostels in Ummapur

Telangana Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday laid the foundation stone for new hostel buildings for girls and boys at the Satavahana University Engineering College in Ummapur, Husnabad mandal, in Siddipet district.

The hostels will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 7.28 crore each, bringing the total expenditure to Rs 14.56 crore. The project aims to improve residential infrastructure for students attending the engineering college.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Husnabad will be developed as an education hub. He stated that the engineering college building will be completed by August next year and that the national flag will be hoisted at the site.

Prabhakar also announced that an integrated school will be completed in the Husnabad constituency, marking the first such facility in Telangana. In addition to the hostel facilities, the Minister said two more buses will soon be provided for the Satavahana University college.

Addressing the student community, Prabhakar noted that educational institutions develop only when academic standards remain high. He said that a Kabaddi Academy will also be established in Husnabad in the near future.

"Facilities are ours, it is your responsibility to bring ranks," the Minister told the attending students, urging them to focus on academic excellence as infrastructure developments continue across the constituency.
