Police Stop BRS Leaders Inspecting Unity Mall Site in Raidurgam

Tension prevailed at Raidurgam, opposite Malakam Cheruvu, on Wednesday after police stopped Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders from inspecting the construction site of the proposed PM Ekta Unity Mall. BRS MLCs Dasoju Sravan and Shambhipur Raju, along with other party leaders, were halted by police personnel upon their arrival, sparking protests against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the State government.

Following the confrontation with police, the BRS leaders staged a demonstration at the site and raised slogans against the Chief Minister. Speaking to media persons at the location, MLC Dasoju Sravan alleged major irregularities in the land allocation and tenders for the project, demanding that all related official documents be released to the public.

Sravan claimed that seven acres of land, valued at approximately Rs 1,700 crore, was being transferred to private developers without tenders or proper agreements. He accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his family of benefiting from the arrangement and questioned the role of government officials involved in the process.

Providing project details, the BRS MLC stated that the Central government had sanctioned a Rs 200-crore interest-free loan for the facility. The proposed mall is planned to feature 27 floors and a total built-up area of 27 lakh square feet. However, Sravan alleged that the State government would receive only nine lakh square feet of space, while private developers would retain control over the remaining 18 lakh square feet.

The BRS leader highlighted that no tender documents or construction agreements for the project were available in the public domain. He raised further allegations concerning land reportedly given to a company linked to the Chief Minister’s brother, Kondal Reddy, and accused the BJP and the Congress government of acting in collusion over the venture.

Sravan directly addressed Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, demanding that the government cancel the existing tenders and make all project-related documents public without delay.
