Police Seize Hash Oil Worth Rs 3.12 Crore in Erragadda and Jubilee Hills

The Hyderabad Police and the Task Force seized 24.956 litres of hash oil valued at Rs 3.12 crore in two separate anti-drug operations conducted in Erragadda and Jubilee Hills on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Five alleged drug peddlers were arrested and two consumers were detained during the crackdowns, which revealed an active drug supply network linked to Odisha.
In the first operation, the Task Force (Jubilee Hills) and the Borabanda Police intercepted suspects in the Erragadda area. They arrested Lasangi Yakobu, also known as Venkat, and Yendrapalli Suri Babu. From their possession, officers seized 23.706 litres of hash oil valued at Rs 2.96 crore, along with two mobile phones.
According to the police, Yakobu is an auto driver hailing from Andhra Pradesh. He has a history of drug-related offenses, having been arrested in 2016 for transporting marijuana. He was also absconding in connection with a Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act case registered at the Borabanda police station in 2025.
Investigators revealed that Yakobu and Suri Babu allegedly procured the large consignment of hash oil from suppliers based in Odisha. They transported the contraband to Hyderabad by train. The police intercepted the duo while they were waiting to board a bus to Bengaluru, where they intended to deliver the seized oil.
The second operation took place at Jubilee Hills Road No 10, where the Task Force (Secunderabad) and the Jubilee Hills Police arrested three more peddlers: B Chinnayya Padal, P Bharath Kumar, and Mohd Shoaib. Two consumers, identified as B Kalyan Teja and T Uday Kumar, were also detained at the scene.
During this second raid, officers recovered 1.250 litres of hash oil valued at Rs 16 lakh. The seizure included 75 small containers used for packaging and a motorcycle. A key suspect named Lobby, who is believed to be the primary supplier from Odisha, is currently absconding.
Police officials stated that Bharath Kumar and Shoaib allegedly procured the hash oil from Chinnayya Padal. They then repackaged the drug into the small containers to sell within Hyderabad for high profits. Background checks revealed that Bharath Kumar has been linked to 18 previous property offences, while the detained consumer, Kalyan Teja, has a prior NDPS case.
