Police Seize 25 kg of Cannabis Chocolates From Shamirpet Pan Shop, One Arrested

The Hyderabad police arrested a Bihar native and seized 5,298 packets of cannabis-laced chocolates weighing approximately 25 kg from a pan shop in Shamirpet on Friday.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Baidnath. According to the police, Baidnath and his wife, Pujari, both natives of Bihar, had been living in Shamirpet for some time and were running the pan shop.

Investigators received intelligence indicating that the couple was allegedly using the shop as a front to distribute cannabis disguised as chocolates. The contraband was reportedly being targeted at local youngsters and schoolchildren.

Acting on the information, police personnel raided the establishment and took Baidnath into custody. During the search of the premises, officers recovered 5,298 packets of the infused chocolates, with a combined weight of about 25 kg.

Police confirmed that Baidnath's wife, Pujari, is currently absconding following the raid.
