Police Seize 160 Detonators Near Bollaram Army Camp in Hyderabad

Police in Hyderabad seized around 160 commercial electric detonators that were abandoned by unidentified individuals near the Madras Regiment Army Camp in Bollaram. The discovery near the military installation prompted immediate security measures by local law enforcement and army authorities.

The incident came to light on Wednesday when Army personnel spotted a suspicious light-green plastic bucket placed near the rear wall of the camp's firing range. Upon noticing the unattended container, the military personnel alerted the Bollaram police to inspect the area.

Following the alert, police personnel arrived at the scene and examined the bucket. Inside, officers found 160 electric detonators that had been packed into eight separate bundles.

A bomb disposal team from Malkajgiri, accompanied by a trained sniffer dog, was summoned to the site to inspect the suspicious materials. The specialists thoroughly examined the scene and identified the seized items as 33A-size commercial electric detonators. Acting on instructions and safety directions provided by the bomb disposal team, the authorities moved and secured the explosive devices at a safe location.

The Bollaram police have registered a case against unidentified persons for leaving the explosives in the area. Investigators have launched a probe to identify who abandoned the materials, trace the original source of the commercial detonators, and determine why they were placed close to the Army camp.
