Police Detain Mohammed Majid At Anwar-ul-Uloom College Over Advocate Murder

On Friday evening, Hyderabad Police special teams detained Mohammed Majid, an alleged henchman of the prime accused in the murder of High Court advocate and Waqf activist Khaja Moizuddin, from the Anwar-ul-Uloom College in Hyderabad. Majid is currently being questioned by investigators as part of the ongoing probe.
The victim, Khaja Moizuddin, was mowed down by a car in front of his residence on May 23. Following the incident, police launched a multi-state investigation to track down those responsible for the advocate's death.
According to police sources, investigators have been keeping a close watch on the associates of the prime accused, Mujahid Alam Khan, and his father, Mahbub Alam Khan, who is named as the second accused in the murder case.
As part of their surveillance, police reportedly collected the call data records of Gyanesh, a security guard working at Anwar-ul-Uloom College, before detaining Majid at the college premises.
In addition to Majid's detention, police are on the look-out for other key suspects. Among those currently listed as absconding are Mujahid’s driver, Mohammed Muneer, and another alleged henchman, Hassan Ali ‘Chaus’, both of whom are accused in the murder case.
The search for the remaining suspects has led Hyderabad Police special teams to conduct operations across state lines. Based on a tip-off that Hassan Ali was taking shelter in Ooty, a special team traveled to the hill station town in Tamil Nadu. However, the accused had already escaped by the time the officers arrived.
Sources also disclosed that police teams conducted a search at a villa in Bengaluru, which is believed to belong to the prime accused, Mujahid Alam Khan. The investigation is ongoing as police continue to search for the remaining absconding suspects.
