Police Detain Former Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy on Shabad Road in Hyderabad

On Saturday, 11 July 2026, tension prevailed on the Shabad road in Hyderabad after local police stopped and detained former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy at the Chevella-Malkapur Gate. The former minister was traveling to Shabad to meet with the families of the victims of a recent multiple murder case.
According to officials, police officers prevented Sabitha Indra Reddy from continuing her journey along the route. After halting her vehicle at the Chevella-Malkapur Gate, the police took her into custody. Following her detention, she was shifted by the police to another location.
The preventive action by the police came amid tight security arrangements that had already been established in the area following the recent multiple murders in Shabad. Local authorities took the step to restrict movement to ensure that the law and order situation did not deteriorate further.
In the wake of the incident, additional police forces have been deployed across Shabad mandal to maintain peace and prevent any potential law and order breakdown. Senior police officials are currently camping in the area to oversee the security deployment and closely monitor the developments.
The situation at the Chevella-Malkapur Gate and along the Shabad road remains tense as security personnel continue to patrol the area to ensure safety and stability.
