Police Arrest Man in Hanumakonda, Seize 251 Kg Ganja Worth Rs 1.25 Crore

A 55-year-old man was arrested in Hanumakonda district after police seized 251 kilograms of ganja valued at approximately Rs 1.25 crore from his residence, officials said on Tuesday.
Acting on specific information, police carried out a search at the accused person's house. Alongside the 251 kg of contraband, officers seized a two-wheeler, Rs 9,000 in cash, and a mobile phone, Warangal Police Commissioner N Swetha stated in an official release.
According to the preliminary investigation, the accused established a supply network to earn money quickly by procuring ganja at low rates from Odisha. He then allegedly distributed and sold the contraband at higher prices to buyers operating across Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
Warangal police have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation to identify and arrest other individuals connected to the inter-state smuggling operation. Special teams have been formed to track down purchasers and associates based in other states, the Police Commissioner said.
