Police Arrest 10 for Gambling in Hyderabad's Begum Bazar

The Goshamahal police apprehended 10 persons for allegedly organising and participating in an illegal card game at Begum Bazar Chatri in Hyderabad during the early hours of Sunday.

Acting on information, a police team conducted a raid on a house located at Begum Bazar Chatri. During the operation, officers reportedly found 10 individuals engaged in a three-card game involving money stakes.

During the raid, the police seized Rs 1,18,800 in cash from the premises. In addition to the currency, officers confiscated a pack of 52 playing cards, casino-style gaming tokens, three hookah pots, hookah coils, and an electric stove used on the premises.

Investigators identified two of the individuals, Shyam Sunder and Ghanshyam Das Karwa, as the persons who allegedly facilitated and organised the illegal gaming activity inside the house. The remaining eight individuals present were allegedly participating in the card game as players.

According to the police, several of the apprehended persons had prior records and had been previously involved in offences relating to illegal gaming, excise violations, and other criminal cases.
