Police and GHMC Inspect Construction Between Chanchalguda and IS Sadan

Senior officials from the Hyderabad Traffic Police and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) conducted a joint inspection of ongoing flyover and road construction works between Chanchalguda Y-Junction and IS Sadan Junction in Hyderabad on Monday, July 6, 2026. The inspection aimed to review existing traffic management measures and find ways to minimise inconvenience for daily commuters.
The joint team comprised high-ranking officers from both departments. The inspection was carried out under the direct supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-I) Rahul Hegde, Additional DCP (Traffic) Ramdas Tejavath, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Chandrakumar. They were joined by Traffic Inspector Mohammad Asif from the Santoshnagar Traffic Police Station.
Representing the civic body, GHMC Deputy Executive Engineer Shravan Kumar participated in the inspection alongside several engineers from the corporation's Projects Division.
During the joint inspection, the officials closely reviewed the implementation of traffic diversion plans currently in place along the active construction corridor. The teams assessed the flow of vehicles to ensure that the ongoing engineering works do not completely disrupt the movement of local traffic.
A key focus of the review was the management of U-turns along the route. The officials identified locations where safe U-turns need to be provided for commuters. Simultaneously, they identified and ordered the removal of unnecessary or hazardous U-turns that pose a risk to road safety.
The inspection also served as an opportunity to assess the level of coordination between the Hyderabad Traffic Police and the GHMC engineering teams. Officials emphasized the need for close cooperation to ensure that the flyover and road construction works progress smoothly with minimal disruption to vehicular movement.
At the end of the site visit, the senior officials issued on-the-spot instructions to the field teams. These directives focused on immediate measures to improve traffic management and enhance commuter safety throughout the remaining duration of the construction works.
