POCSO Accused Booked for Allegedly Kidnapping Minor Survivor in Malakpet

A 24-year-old man facing charges under the POCSO Act has been booked again for allegedly kidnapping a 17-year-old minor girl, who is the survivor in his previous case, from her family's residence in the Malakpet area of Hyderabad. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, around 2:30 AM, prompting the local police to launch an active investigation.

The accused, identified as Chaitanya, was previously booked by the Addagudur police after the victim's family filed a complaint alleging that he had been stalking and harassing her. That initial case was registered under Sections 329(4) and 78 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as well as Section 11 read with Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to the police, the 17-year-old girl is a native of Addagudur mandal but has been residing in Hyderabad to pursue her studies. She reportedly became acquainted with Chaitanya during her visits to her native village.

On Monday, the minor was produced before the Bharosa Centre in Bhuvanagiri, where officials recorded her statement regarding the ongoing case. She was also directed by authorities to appear again on Tuesday for a further medical examination.

Following her appearance at the Bharosa Centre on Monday, the girl returned to her family's residence in Hyderabad. However, at approximately 2:30 AM on Tuesday, her family discovered that she was missing from the home. The family alleged that Chaitanya had abducted her.

Based on the complaint filed by the girl's family, the Malakpet police registered a fresh case against Chaitanya under Section 137(2) of the BNS, which pertains to kidnapping. Police officers have launched a search operation to trace the missing minor and apprehend the accused.
