PIB, CRPF and Civic Officials Hold Cleanliness Drives Across Hyderabad

Government officials and security personnel carried out cleanliness drives, awareness campaigns, and tree plantation activities at multiple locations across Hyderabad on Thursday, including Kavadiguda and Serilingampally. The events were organised as part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign under the "Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath" initiative, which focuses on fostering civic responsibility and public participation.
At the CGO Towers in Kavadiguda, officials and staff members from the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) took part in a sanitation drive and created awareness regarding the importance of maintaining clean surroundings.
Addressing the participants at CGO Towers, PIB Hyderabad Additional Director General Shruti Patil stated that cleanliness should not be treated as an isolated, one-day exercise but rather embraced as a daily responsibility. She highlighted the role of public participation in the Swachh Bharat Mission and called on all officials and staff members to make cleanliness part of their regular routines.
During the event, Patil appreciated the ongoing efforts of sanitation workers stationed at the complex and distributed protective gloves and sanitation kits to them. Officials and staff members also planted saplings on the premises under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative, an effort intended to increase green cover and promote environmental conservation.
Separately, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Southern Sector conducted an hour-long Shramdaan programme at Gopi Cheruvu in Serilingampally. The sanitation work took place between 8 am and 9 am, with CRPF personnel joining residents of Doyens Township and CMC staffers to clean the lake and its surroundings.
Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, CRPF Inspector General Thummala Vikram, and DIGs including Praveen Ghag took part in the programme alongside CMC Deputy Commissioner Seva Islavath and other officials. Participants in the drive also encouraged tree plantation along the lake to help maintain healthy surroundings.
