Pedestrian Dies in Double Hit-and-Run Crash at Khajaguda

An unidentified 35-year-old pedestrian died in a freak road accident at Khajaguda in the early hours of Monday after being struck by two separate cars. The fatal incident occurred as a driver attempted to rush the injured man to a hospital in Gachibowli following an initial collision.

According to the police, the accident took place around 4:15 am when the victim was attempting to cross the road at Khajaguda. An SUV travelling from the Nanakramguda area towards Khajaguda hit the pedestrian.

The driver of the Innova, identified as 21-year-old Zaydshah Kadri, stopped his vehicle and placed the injured pedestrian inside the car to transport him to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

However, before they could reach emergency care, another speeding car crashed into Kadri's SUV. The impact of the second collision resulted in catastrophic injuries to the pedestrian who was already in distress inside the vehicle. The unidentified man died on the spot.

The driver of the second car that rammed the SUV immediately fled the scene after the crash. Police confirmed that two people suffered injuries during the sequence of collisions.

Kadri sustained severe injuries in the crash, including a fracture to his right leg and multiple other wounds. He was shifted to a private hospital in Gachibowli, where he is currently receiving treatment.

"The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. Innova driver Zaydshah Kadri, 21, sustained a fracture to his right leg and other injuries and was shifted to a private hospital in Gachibowli for treatment," Raidurgam Inspector T Bhupathi said.

Raidurgam police have registered a case and are investigating the incident while attempting to trace the absconding driver.

"The identity and details of the deceased are yet to be established. Citizens who can provide any information regarding the identity of the deceased person are requested to contact Raidurgam police," the police said in an official note.
