Pahadishareef Police Arrest Bike Mechanic for Rape and Murder of Nurse in Thukkuguda

Pahadishareef police arrested a 34-year-old bike mechanic within 30 hours of receiving a complaint in connection with the rape and murder of a 21-year-old nurse at Thukkuguda. The accused, who previously learnt mechanic work at Uppal, was apprehended on Sunday evening, August 30.
Police identified the accused as Md. Sanaullah, a native of Begusarai district in Bihar, who worked and resided at a local bike mechanic shop.
The incident came to light after the victim's aunt filed a police complaint around 3:20 p.m. on August 29. The complaint was made after the victim's friend alerted her family that the woman had not emerged from her room since morning and was not responding to repeated knocks. Upon entering the room through a window, they discovered the woman lying dead with bleeding facial injuries.
Investigators tracked down Sanaullah using technical evidence and specific information. According to police, Sanaullah arrived in Hyderabad in 2023 and learned his trade as a bike mechanic in Uppal. About two months ago, he relocated to Thukkuguda to work at a mechanic shop.
Police stated that Sanaullah noticed the woman through the rear window of the repair shop approximately a month before the attack and began tracking her movements. He allegedly devised a plan to sexually assault her.
During the intervening night of August 28 and August 29, Sanaullah allegedly entered the victim's room through a window around 12:30 a.m. When the woman woke up and raised an alarm, he covered her mouth and grabbed her throat. A struggle ensued, during which the woman bit his left little finger and scratched his neck and chest.
Police stated that Sanaullah then assaulted the victim on her face, pushed her to the ground, and strangled her before sexually assaulting her. He subsequently closed the window and fled the scene.
Following his arrest, police seized a mobile phone and clothing belonging to the accused. Investigators confirmed that scientific, technical, and corroborative evidence is currently being gathered and analysed as part of the ongoing investigation.
