Owaisi Urges Telangana Citizens to Complete Voter List Revisions by September 17

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi urged citizens to actively participate in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Telangana during an address at the party headquarters in Darussalam, Hyderabad.

Speaking at the Jalsa-e-Rahmatul-lil-Alameen, Owaisi noted that the Election Commission of India (ECI) released a draft electoral roll on August 17, providing citizens with a window until September 17 to verify and correct their entries.

Owaisi emphasized the importance of attending hearings scheduled by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). He advised that whenever citizens receive a notice from an ERO detailing the date and time, they must attend in person or depute a representative if they cannot be present.

For those who could not submit enumeration forms or whose names were omitted from the draft roll, Owaisi advised submitting Form 6 to their Booth Level Officer (BLO) to ensure inclusion in the final electoral roll. He added that submitting Form 6 is also mandatory for those who never received an enumeration form, offering assistance through party offices at Darussalam.

During his address, Owaisi also criticized the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of historically favoring the Manusmriti over the Constitution of India drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He cited an RSS publication from November 30, 1949, four days after the Constitution was adopted, which raised complaints against the document.

The AIMIM chief also referenced Hindutva ideologue V.D. Savarkar's letters to British authorities while imprisoned in the Andaman Cellular Jail, contrasting them with the actions of freedom fighter Allama Fazl-e-Haq Khairabadi.
