Owaisi Slams Mohan Bhagwat's Remarks on Hindu-Muslim Unity

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi in Hyderabad sharply criticized RSS sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat over his statements on Hindu-Muslim unity delivered during an address in New York.

Describing the comments as "rhetoric for a global audience" and a "dog whistle" for RSS members, Owaisi stated that even if a 'Babri Masjid' was constructed on the land allocated in Ayodhya, Muslims would not offer namaz there.

Bhagwat had remarked that if any Hindu believes there should be no Muslim in Bharat, that person ceases to remain a Hindu. Responding to the statement, Owaisi termed it the "oldest trick in the RSS playbook: some words are for the world, and some are for its own members."

In a post on his X handle, Owaisi accused the RSS of maintaining a dual stance where formal public messaging contradicts its foundational ideology. He noted that the organization has never formally disavowed its key thinkers and writers, specifically citing M.S. Golwalkar and founder K.B. Hedgewar. Owaisi pointed out that their writings explicitly framed Muslims and Christians as internal threats to India.

Owaisi challenged the RSS chief to openly recite passages from the writings of V.D. Savarkar, Hedgewar, and Golwalkar, suggesting that doing so would allow citizens to see the organization's unvarnished stance on minorities and democracy.

The AIMIM president also questioned the Union government's approach regarding foreign travel clearances. He criticized the Ministry of External Affairs for denying political clearance to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for a proposed tour of the United States while allowing leaders like Bhagwat to travel abroad freely.
