Over 60,000 Apply for Indiramma LIG Housing in Hyderabad CURE Area

Over 60,000 families have applied for the Indiramma Low Income Group (LIG) Housing Scheme in the Core Urban Region of Economy (CURE) area, the Telangana government announced on Saturday. A draw of lots to select beneficiaries for 7,340 houses will take place on August 20, while the application window for an additional 1,920 homes remains open until September 3.

As part of a pilot project, the government will construct 10-storey Indiramma LIG Housing Towers across four localities in Hyderabad: Hayathnagar, Goshamahal, Musheerabad, and Bandlaguda.

Telangana Housing Board Secretary V.P. Gautam stated that tenders for the construction work have already been floated. Authorities are taking steps to commence construction during the first week of September. The government has also set up a dedicated call centre reachable at 040-24603572 for applicants seeking information or resolution of queries.

Under the scheme, eligible applicants must have an annual family income below Rs 6 lakh and must not own any house, flat, or residential plot within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits. The allotment of flats is being conducted entirely through a lottery process.

Each 1 BHK unit will offer a built-up area of 528 square feet. Beneficiaries are required to contribute Rs 6 lakh, while the state government will provide a subsidy of Rs 5 lakh per unit. Allottees will also receive an undivided land share of up to 30 square yards.

To apply, citizens submitted an application fee of Rs 100 alongside an earnest money deposit of Rs 10,000. The deposit amount will be adjusted against the final cost for successful applicants or refunded to those not selected in the draw.
