Over 30% of Gachibowli Flyovers and Underpass Completed in H-CITI Project

Over 30 per cent of civil works for three flyovers and an underpass at IIIT Junction and Khajaguda Junction in Gachibowli have been completed under the Hyderabad City and Innovative Transformative (H-CITI) project, officials from the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation confirmed.
Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner G Srijana has announced a deadline of April 2027 for the completion of all three flyovers and the underpass. A senior CMC official stated that earth excavation works for the project are now almost completed, and engineering teams are actively progressing with pillar works at the site.
The H-CITI infrastructure project in Gachibowli includes four main components: a four-lane bi-directional flyover at Level-1 running from ISB Road to DLF Road, a three-lane unidirectional flyover at Level-2 connecting DLF Road to Gachibowli Stadium, a three-lane unidirectional flyover stretching from ISB Road to Indira Nagar, and a six-lane bidirectional underpass from Indira Nagar to Gachibowli Stadium.
The construction activities over the last couple of months have badly impacted traffic movement in the area, creating severe hardships for daily commuters. Nearly 40 per cent of the road stretches at the busy IIIT Junction and Khajaguda Junction remain affected by the ongoing works. During peak hours, traffic has been crawling, leaving vehicles stranded for extended periods and stretching commute times.
Municipal officials acknowledged the ongoing traffic disruptions, attributing them to the deployment of heavy machinery and the transport of heavy construction materials, including iron, cement, and soil. The project encountered initial delays due to land acquisition issues, permissions required for traffic diversions, and the monsoon season, but officials noted that site work is now moving at a brisk pace.
To lessen the impact on daily commuters, officials have widened road stretches at critical bottlenecks and put up barricades around active work sites for safety. Engineering teams are also adjusting barricades to provide additional road space to prevent traffic jams wherever pillar construction work has been completed.
