Osmania University Secures 4th Place in India Today Rankings

Osmania University in Hyderabad has secured fourth rank among India's top general government universities in the latest India Today rankings, marking a significant milestone in national higher education assessments.

In addition to the India Today evaluation, the university secured the 13th rank in the Outlook-ICARE Rankings 2026 under the Top 75 State Public Universities category. The institution's engineering wing also earned national recognition, with the Osmania University College of Engineering bagging the 18th rank among the Top 25 Government Engineering Institutes in the Outlook-ICARE Rankings 2026.

Reacting to the announcement, Osmania University Vice Chancellor Prof Kumar Molugaram stated that the achievements reflect the ongoing efforts across all levels of the institution. He credited the rankings to the commitment, intellectual energy, and hard work demonstrated by the faculty members, research scholars, students, non-teaching staff, and alumni community.

Prof Molugaram noted that the recognition serves as a vital push for future academic and institutional growth. He remarked that the success is not just a milestone, but a powerful motivation to further elevate the university's standards of research, teaching, and global innovation.

The performance across multiple national ranking frameworks highlights the standing of both the core university departments and its affiliated technical institutions, including the College of Engineering, in national evaluations for general and professional government institutions.
