Osmania University Arts College announces first OJAS 2K26 cultural festival

The Osmania University College of Arts and Social Sciences, popularly known as Arts College, announced on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, that it will host its first-ever cultural and academic festival, "OJAS 2K26." The landmark event is scheduled to take place from July 7 to July 9, 2026, at the historic Arts College campus in Hyderabad.

The three-day festival is designed to foster collaboration, intellectual growth, and cultural engagement among students. More than 30 colleges from Hyderabad and its surrounding regions are expected to participate in the various events, creating a vibrant platform for regional student talent.

The first two days of the festival, July 7 and July 8, will feature a diverse lineup of literary, academic, cultural, and creative competitions. On the inaugural day, participants will compete in "Thought to Page," a creative writing contest, and "Turn the Coat," an impromptu debate. Other day-one events include "Osmania Quiz Mania," a presentation contest named "Slide-o-Metry," "Trail of Clues," and a public policy challenge called "House of Reforms." Musical and dance talents will also be on display through a jam session, a solo singing contest called "Melody Masters," a battle of the bands, and a group dance competition titled "Groove to the Beat."

On July 8, the competitive spirit will continue with "Through Your Lens" photography and "Reel to Real" short film contests. Vocalists and dancers will perform in the "Harmony Hub" group singing and "Groove to the Beat" solo dance categories. The second day will also feature a traditional fashion show called "Tradition in Trends," a drawing and painting competition named "Brush & Beyond," and a treasure hunt spread across the historic campus grounds.

In addition to the formal competitions, the festival organizers have planned open-air stage performances, food stalls, cultural showcases, and celebrity guest appearances. These activities aim to provide networking opportunities and celebrate campus life.

The festival will culminate on July 9 with the college's annual day celebrations. Director General of Police (DGP) CV Anand is scheduled to attend the final day of the event as a guest.
