Osmania University Announces 648 PhD Seats for 2026 Entrance Test

Osmania University in Hyderabad has announced 648 vacancies for its PhD Entrance Test-2026 under Category-II across 12 faculties, with the science and engineering disciplines accounting for the largest share of available seats.

According to the university's notification, the science faculty leads with 337 vacancies, followed by engineering with 119 seats. Among the other disciplines, arts has 61 vacancies, social sciences has 35, and commerce offers 26 seats.

In the remaining faculties, management has 18 seats, technology has 15, and both oriental languages and education have 11 seats each. Additionally, the pharmacy faculty has seven seats, law has six, and informatics has two vacancies.

Online registration and the submission of applications for eligible candidates will begin on August 26. Aspirants can submit their application forms without paying a late fee until September 25.

Candidates who miss the initial deadline will be permitted to apply by paying a late fee of ₹2,000 until October 1.

The PhD entrance tests are tentatively scheduled to be conducted during the second week of October. The university has advised applicants to consult its official website and the Osmania University admissions portal for the comprehensive schedule and further updates regarding the examination.
