One-Way Traffic System Around KBR Park to Begin August 18

The Hyderabad traffic police will enforce a one-way traffic system around KBR Park starting August 18 to manage congestion caused by ongoing infrastructure work. Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar announced the decision on Tuesday, noting that the ongoing construction of flyovers and underpasses under the H-CITI Project has significantly reduced the available road space around the park.

With high traffic volumes continuing in the area, authorities determined that allowing vehicle movement in both directions on the remaining carriageway would result in major delays, congestion, and conflict points. The one-way arrangement is being introduced to ease traffic flow and ensure safer movement for commuters.

Before deciding to implement the system on a regular basis, the Hyderabad traffic police conducted two pilot trials to assess the feasibility and operational requirements of the proposed setup. During both trials, officials actively monitored traffic flow, junction performance, lane discipline, congestion points, and commuter movement.

According to Sajjanar, necessary modifications based on observations and lessons from these pilot trials have been incorporated into the plan ahead of its regular implementation on August 18.
