Officials Seek Corporate CSR Funds to Revive Hyderabad Lakes

Officials from the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) and the sports departments have urged corporate houses to utilize their corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for the revival and development of smaller lakes in Hyderabad.

Speaking at the CSR Round Table 2.0 meeting organized to increase corporate involvement in lake rejuvenation, officials highlighted that these water bodies play a critical role in flood control, maintaining ecological balance, and securing the city's future water needs.

Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath addressed the meeting. During the session, Ranganath presented an overview of the lake development works carried out under the first and second phases of HYDRAA's initiatives.

Commissioner Ranganath also informed attendees that the state government has approved the third phase of lake development works.

Calling for a collaborative approach, officials stated that safeguarding the city's lakes for future generations requires active participation from corporates and citizens alongside government agencies. Ranganath noted that dedicated CSR support for smaller lakes would strengthen environmental protection and help build a more sustainable Hyderabad.
