NxtWave Partners With IIT Kharagpur OCN To Offer Tech Courses To NIAT Learners

HYDERABAD — Hyderabad-based upskilling platform NxtWave has announced a partnership with the IIT Kharagpur Outreach Course Network (OCN) to offer micro-specialisation courses to NIAT learners. The announcement, made on June 25, 2026, details that these specialized courses will begin for enrolled students starting in 2026.

Through this new partnership, eligible learners will have the opportunity to receive advanced technology training alongside their regular NxtWave programme. The collaboration aims to provide students with structured exposure to advanced areas of technology.

The NIAT initiative is an upskilling programme run by NxtWave. With the integration of the IIT Kharagpur OCN courses, NxtWave aims to enhance the technical depth of the curriculum offered to its enrolled learners.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the partnership was signed in the presence of key leadership from both NxtWave and the educational institute. The attendees included Prof Suman Chakraborty, Director of IIT Kharagpur, Girish Akash, Head of Partnerships at NxtWave, and Prof Swagata Dasgupta, Dean of Outreach at IIT Kharagpur.

NxtWave is now an onboarded partner of the IIT Kharagpur OCN, which is a Platinum Jubilee initiative of IIT Kharagpur. This status allows NxtWave to offer these specialized academic pathways to its NIAT learners.

Students who successfully complete the micro-specialisation courses will receive several formal benefits. Upon successful completion, eligible students will earn an IIT Kharagpur OCN Micro-Specialisation Certificate.

In addition to the certificate, students will be provided with official student credentials for the duration of the programme. These credentials include access to an IIT Kharagpur OCN Student Identity Card and an official IIT Kharagpur OCN email ID.

Furthermore, upon successful completion, students will be granted IIT Kharagpur OCN Alumni Status. This benefit is subject to the policies and applicable requirements set by IIT Kharagpur.
