NTPC Donates Advanced Medical Equipment to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has provided advanced medical equipment to the Orthopedics Department and mortuary at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. The donation was made under NTPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the 2025-26 financial year, with a formal inauguration ceremony held at the hospital on Friday.

The newly acquired medical equipment was officially inaugurated by Surya Narayan Panigrahi, who serves as the Executive Director (HR) and Regional Head of HR (North and South) for NTPC Limited. The event took place in the presence of Dr N Vani, the Superintendent and ADME of Gandhi Hospital, alongside other senior officials.

This CSR support from NTPC includes several high-tech medical devices aimed at improving clinical outcomes. Among the equipment provided to the Orthopedics Department are C-Arm Imaging Machines, C-Arm Compatible Orthopedic Fracture Operating Tables, and Cordless Battery-Operated Drill Machines.

In addition to the orthopedic tools, the hospital's mortuary was upgraded with Modern Autopsy Dissection Tables that feature Attached Shadowless Lamps to assist medical staff during procedures.

Speaking at the inauguration, Surya Narayan Panigrahi reiterated NTPC’s long-standing commitment to contributing to nation-building. He emphasized that the public sector undertaking actively seeks to implement impactful CSR interventions across key areas such as healthcare, education, skill development, and community welfare.

Dr N Vani expressed her appreciation for NTPC’s support in upgrading the government hospital's infrastructure. She highlighted that the advanced machinery and tools would significantly improve the quality of patient services and overall hospital operations.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by senior representatives and officials from both Gandhi Hospital and the NTPC Southern Region Headquarters.
