NTA to Release UGC NET June 2026 Provisional Answer Key on August 16

The National Testing Agency is set to release the provisional answer key for the UGC NET June 2026 examination on August 16, along with the question papers and candidates' recorded response sheets. The scores from this national eligibility test are accepted by major higher education institutions across the country, including the University of Hyderabad.

Candidates who appeared for the June session can access their provisional answer keys by logging into the official portal using their application numbers alongside their passwords or dates of birth. The released documents will enable candidates to calculate their expected marks and verify their recorded responses prior to the announcement of final results.

The UGC NET June 2026 examination was conducted across various centres in India on June 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, and 30. Following the primary schedule, the testing agency also held a re-examination on July 5 for candidates assigned to the CT Group of Institutions centre in Jalandhar during the June 22 session, aiming to ensure fairness in the testing process.

Under the examination's marking scheme, candidates receive two marks for each correct response, with no negative marking applied for incorrect answers. The provisional answer key lists details including the exam name, subject ID, question ID, exam date, shift details, and correct option ID. Candidates can determine their estimated score by multiplying the total number of correct answers by two.

The agency will also provide an objection window allowing candidates to challenge provisional answers online. Aspirants identifying discrepancies must submit their challenges within the specified deadline along with the required fee per question challenged. Final scores may be adjusted after the agency reviews all submitted objections.

UGC NET scores serve as qualifying criteria for PhD admissions, Assistant Professor recruitment, and Junior Research Fellowship awards. In addition to the University of Hyderabad, participating institutions include the University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Banaras Hindu University, Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islamia, and Indira Gandhi National Open University.
