NRAI Launches ISSF B Judges Course at Taj Surajkund in Delhi NCR

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) launched the ISSF "B" Judges Course for rifle and pistol disciplines on June 20, 2026, at Taj Surajkund in Delhi NCR. The five-day training programme has brought together 31 technical officials from various State Rifle Associations and affiliated units across India to enhance officiating standards.

Running from June 20 to June 24, 2026, the course provides participants with an opportunity to upgrade their officiating knowledge and skills. The curriculum is specifically aligned with the latest rules and standards set by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).

The educational program features instruction from prominent international shooting sports figures. Mrs Ghislaine Briez of France, who is the Chairperson of the ISSF Judges Committee, and Mr Paul Gumn of the United Kingdom, a member of the ISSF Technical Committee, are leading the course. The two experts are conducting a series of classroom sessions and practical learning modules to improve the technical officiating capabilities of the participants.

They are joined by Indian instructors Mr Dhiraj Singh and Mr Arun Wareshi, both of whom are ISSF "A" Licence holders.

NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo spoke on the significance of the training, noting that technical officials ensure fairness, consistency, and adherence to rules. He added that the NRAI Education Program remains committed to continuously upgrading the skills of Indian officials to match the highest international standards.

NRAI Secretary General and Director of the NRAI Education Program, Pawankumar Singh, stated that well-trained judges are vital for the smooth conduct of competitions. He noted that as shooting sport experiences rapid growth and more competitions are organized across India, developing a larger pool of qualified technical officials becomes essential.

This initiative is the second ISSF "B" Judges Course held in India this year under the NRAI Education Program.
